

Dr Marc F. Ott
Marc grew up in Switzerland and the Middle East. After earning a Master’s degree in teaching Business, Economics, Accounting, and Swiss Law from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland, he moved to the United States to join the Leysin American School Admissions Office outside Boston. He later completed a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Administration at Columbia University in New York City. Marc returned to Switzerland in 2005 to lead the LAS Admissions Department, and in August 2009, he became Head of School at LAS. He has written and published on quality management and accreditation in schools and has taught in the Endicott College Master’s Degree program. Marc has served on several boards, including the Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS) — where he was Chair from 2017 to 2021 — the Swiss Federation of Private Schools (FSEP) (2010–present), the Association Vaudoise des Écoles Privées (AVDEP) (since 2021), the Aigle–Leysin–Col des Mosses Tourist Association (since 2005), and the Leysin Political Party (PLR / FDP – The Liberals) (since 2005).
Marc is married and has one child, currently enrolled at LAS. His wife, Dr. Stephanie Ott, is one of Leysin’s town physicians. In his free time, Marc enjoys traveling, alpine sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
