Alan Miller co-founded SCM Direct, the innovative digital wealth manager in 2009 with Gina. Alan is one of only a handful of UK investment managers that has manged a very diverse range of asset classes and clients, including managing the first UK long/short equities hedge fund, which returned 17+% pa during the 9.5 years of his management.

Before SCM Direct, Alan worked at New Star Asset Management as CIO, headed up the High-Performance Team at Jupiter and worked at Gartmore and Hermes. Together with Gina, they have been vocal, through their True and Fair Campaign since 2010 about improving consumer protection, regulation, and transparency in the UK investment management industry.

Issues he has researched, and highlighted include closet indexation, hidden high fees, illiquidity, and ESG greenwashing.
