Rosalind Bluestone MBE
Rosalind Bluestone MBE founded Goods For Good (Global) in 2014 when she was made redundant aged 60. She was determined to continue and expand her work to help with an unprecedented world crisis which she couldn’t ignore.
Having worked for a London-based international charity since 2002, she was determined to continue a lifeline of essential goods to those who had no means to purchase for themselves.
She set up Goods For Good as a non-profit, with a focus on humanitarian aid delivery of overstocked branded, new goods, donated from UK & EU companies and communities. The charity works with major brands and retailers to prevent unwanted goods going to landfill. Since then, the charity has delivered over £90m-worth of vital goods, giving people access to clothing, bedding, footwear, sportswear, toiletries, and hygiene products.
About the Charity. www.goodsforgood.org.uk
Goods For Good delivers tonnes of unwanted quality essential items, donated by retailers and manufacturers. Goods which may otherwise be destined for incineration or landfill – delivering them to people in urgent need in the UK and overseas. This prevents waste and carbon emissions associated with disposal.
The charity is run on a low-cost model whereby UK Retailers manage our operations in their warehouses on behalf of the charity. This is a smart, low-cost model.
The goods donated are distributed through a network of charity partners (Kind Network) being around 130 charities. During the COVID-19 pandemic they accelerated the model to deliver hygiene and essential goods to NHS hospitals, food & hygiene banks, the homeless, housing associations, and vulnerable individuals and families. Since 2014, the charity has delivered hundreds of 40′ trucks and containers of humanitarian aid to over 6 million people in need, saving thousands of tonnes of quality, essential goods from landfill. This lifeline equates to over £90m-worth of goods delivered to people who are living in dire conditions. Over 280 UK and European companies donate their surplus, unwanted goods to us, which we distribute to vulnerable people in need. Donor companies include: UNIQLO, My1stYears, NEXT, Hela Brands, The Dune Group, Hunter Boots, Nike, New Balance, Puma, Soles4Souls, GOOD360, Regatta, Result, Falcon Sports, Silent Night,, The Dune Group, Comfy Group, Uniforms4Kids and Harrods, to name just a few.
