Guy Avshalom has been COO of Lionsgate UK for ten years. In that time, he has transformed the company from an independent British film distribution business to one of the leading entertainment businesses in the UK. Guy led the company’s venture into the digital age. He oversaw a broad spectrum of business deals including film and slate production and financing, rights trading and exploitation, and acquisitions. He led the company’s relationships with leading producers in Britain and the United States. In addition, he was the architect behind Lionsgate’s partnerships with firms such as BT Vision, Love films, Film Flex, BSkyB, Netflix, Icon and iTunes and presided over the company’s increasing involvement in television distribution as well as the expansion of its activities into territories outside the UK.
